Frozen Pea Fund Donates $10 K to Blameathon
When Drew found out he had cancer, he did a unique take on it like our inspiration, Susan Reynolds, and started blaming his cancer for everything under the sun. “I’ve been blaming my cancer for everything. Lost keys, wallet, Phillies losing. Sixers picking a bad coach. Twitter going down and/or being slow.” He even created a website and started encouraging others to beat up on his cancer by sending their tweets with the hashtag #BlameDrewsCancer.
On September 9, 2009, Drew Olanoff and Blame Drew’s Cancer partnered with 23andme and blip.tv to host a 24 hour new media inspired teleathon and worldwide blame cancer event, Blame-a-thon. The Blame-a-thon was born of a desire to raise money to fight cancer, it was a great evening of music, chatter and donations that ultimately benefits the Livestrong Foundation.
Here at Frozen Pea Fund, we don’t appease cancer. It took some time, but Cathleen, Connie and Susan contacted Drew to let hem know they had some news for him. After some making some Twitter connections, they shared the news that in honor of Drew’s fight with cancer and the Blame-a-thon, the Frozen Pea Fund was making a $10,000 donation!
It seems we made Drew drop his phone.
We’re behind Drew’s efforts to fight his cancer, to beat it back. Help us fight, help Drew win. Take a moment, blame anything you want on Drew’s cancer when you’re having a bad moment during the day. Let’s kick cancer’s ass.
